Yokohama Snow 15th Feb

Anyone reading this in the southern hemisphere who is very hot spare a thought for me in the northern hemisphere winter.
Snow in Yokohama, walking to school through the park, and the play ground climbing equipment. My students loved playing in the snow as I did, together we built a great snowman who later melted in the sun :(

Snow Festival

Sunday - in awe of these snow sculptures. Seriously huge.
The Kiwi guy that had prepared the grid on his snow block and was about to spend the next 4 days with 2 mates to create a manta ray.
X-country ski tracks in the park. Then it started snowing!!! Perfect.
We discovered the best cheese cake in the world and devoured it - took 11 of us but we did it.

Visiting Otaru

Crabs, fresh fish, oysters on the BBQ, scallops, sushi, sake!!! The crab in the tank for 28,000 yen is worth $335 aussie dollars!
The canal at night in Otaru, 40 mins by train from Sapporo - stunning.
Squeezing our own grapefruit to add to our drinks.
