Had selected morning shade so managed a little sleep in of 2 hours. No rush, clean the chain,load panniers and head off in search of breakfast at MFS (my favourite store). This trip would never be possible without the convenience stores. My Favourite Store is Seico Mart - all sorts of treats for a hungry cyclist. Pancakes with honey is a breakfast fav, fresh pasta meals and onigiri (rice balls with fish inside).
Oh the rabbits are what the road construction crew place along the side of the road. There were literally hundreds of pink rabbits.
Through Otoineppu, onto route 12 and reach Utanobori, out of the mountains and heading for the coast. Reach Esashi and the Sea of Okhotsk. It's a little disappointing and kind of industrial, a working port. Looking for a camp site down side roads along the coast and discover (I think) Cape Usutaibe Misaki.
