Rare pics from the inside of the onsen. Various hot tubs. One sheer joy of my journey was finding an onsen and scrubbing and soaking away the tired muscles. Hokkaido is well known for it's great onsens, the water being heated naturally from the volcanoes full of good stuff. I was the only person here, hence the pics. Everyone just gets naked and does their thing. It's quite a social event. The little pink stools are for sitting on whilst you soap and scrub. You only go in the hot tub when you are spotlessly clean and rinsed off. It's easy to spend an hour or two in here then once dressed I would go and relax in the tatami room and eat at the restaurant. It's a total experience.
Slept really well, no rush to do anything, light drizzle.
